Quake Watch v0.2

Quake Watch is a utility that I wrote to keep tabs on the various quake servers across the country. I wanted
a dynamic utility that constantly polled the various servers and let me know which servers where up and
how many players where playing at the time the server was polled.

Quake Watch is also a quake launch utility. If you see a server that looks promising, select it from the list
and click on the quake icon located on the toolbar to launch quake.

This utility only works with TCP/IP-based quake servers as my interest is primarily playing quake over the
Internet.

Features

Dynamically updates the status of various quake servers.
Allows you to launch quake and automatically attempt to connect to a selected server.
Serves as a simple quake server directory.

Bugs and Known Limitations

This is a 16-bit Windows app. (Not really a bug. But needs to be fixed.)
If you attempt to specify qlaunch directly in the quake command line preferences. Quake will not be
able to locate the quake server. You must run qlaunch indirectly via a batch file (Such as q95.bat).

Future Plans

  32-Bit version (MultiThreaded).
AutoLaunch when a slot on a selected server becomes available.
  Various sorting and filtering options.
  Display response time.
Query server to display players and fragcounts.
Obtain list of servers via finger from one of the reference sites (Stomped or Aftershock).
  Support for IPX based servers.
Automatically resume polling after quake terminates.

Configuring Quake Watch for use with Quake

In order to launch quake from within Quake Watch you must configure Quake Watch. Please select the
Preferences item from the File menu and complete the information found there.
