QTeam 2.0
by Quake Innovations

I. Overview
Congratulations on your decision to play QTeam 2.0! QTeam is the most
advanced and exciting teamplay addon available for Quake. Developed by
the people who brought you the original Capture the Flag game for Quake,
it's now rich with new games such as Capture the Shambler, Paintball,
King of the Hill, and Advanced Capture the Flag, and QFragFest! Included
are custom maps for each of the games.
There's also a separate package for map designers that allows creating new
maps to take advantage of exciting QTeam features such as 2-8 team
support, any number flags per team, any number of bases per team, shared
flags and bases, dynamically sizing maps, different value flags and bases,
jail cells for eliminated players in paintball, Scavenger hunt modes,
deathtag mode, team spawn spots, team weapons and doors, and much more.
The map designers package also includes some sample maps demonstrating
these features and includes textures to define team bases, and other team
objects within maps. See the documentation in the mapdes subdirectory for
further details.
II. Installing the package
You must already have the registered version of Quake installed on your
system in order to play QTeam. The installation of the QTeam package
assumes that you have some familiarity with manipulating files and
directories under DOS, Windows, or whatever operating system you use.
1. Pay attention to what directory you unzipped the QTeam archive
(qteam20.zip). We will call this the Unzip directory.
2. Locate the Quake directory on your system. This will be the directory
that contains quake.exe.
3. For the purpose of providing an example, let's assume that you
unzipped QTeam into c:\temp (Unzip directory) and Quake on your
system is located in c:\quake (Quake directory). Let's also assume
that you are operating under DOS or a Windows DOS box, and that
you are using PKZIP 2.04g for unzipping files.
4. Copy install.zip from the Unzip directory to the Quake directory
Continuing our example, the command to do this would be
copy c:\temp\install.zip c:\quake
5. Change to the Quake directory
Continuing our example, the commands to do this would be
c:
cd \quake
5. Unzip install.zip using the preserve directory option
Continuing our example, the command to do this would be
pkunzip -od install.zip
