Volcano (Version 1) was my first real attempt at completing a Quake level. The original
version was deathmatch only. I have enjoyed many hours playing the original
against 4 or 5, Skill 2 Reaper Bots. It was also positively reviewed at a few web
sites, and others have e-mailed me saying they like it. I still think Volcano (both
versions) is a really fun level for Reaper Bots. However, for real multiplayer action
on the internet, it might run too slow (laggy). A local, direct connect might be good for
some one on one action.
After authoring several other single player maps for Quake, I decided that Volcano
would make a great single player level too. That is the main reason for a Version 2
update. I also fixed a few textures, changed others, and generally applied some
leveling experience to my first effort. The deathmatch map is pretty much the
same, except for the re-arrangment of some objects and textures.
Please, if you try this level I would like feedback on any aspect of the design
including how it works over internet, degree of challenge, fun facter etc.
Feel free to distribute this level as long as it is for NON-COMMERCIAL
purposes and this document is included. I retain the rights to the design of this
Quake level. If you would like to use it or distribute it as part or any project,
commercial or otherwise, please contact me.
Please do not modify this level.
I dedicate this Quake level to my Parents who are deceased.
