Ahumado's Skull
TITLE: Ahumado's Skull
FILENAME: Ahumado.zip
AUTHOR: Jan M. Pear
E-MAIL: gus@portup.com
HOMEPAGE: http://www.portup.com/~gus
DESCRIPTION: This is a two level quest. The first is in a castle
type setting that eventually leads to the mountains. The second level
is done in an Egyptian motif. I was able to keep the framerates up by
making the maps smaller than my first release and utilizing proper
building techniques. In map1 I ran out of planes so was not able to do
everything I wanted but am very satisfied with the result. In map2 I
was not able to add as many ambient sounds as I wished, something about
not being any more pre-cache room.
The Story
Your on a Quest......something different, eh? You have traveled
to battle Skull (so named because he is said to collect them)
so the coming generations will sing your praises at campfires.
Defeat or Victory is less important than the songs that will make you
legend.
Your arrival to Castle Skull was easy. You find though that Skull
is particular and won't battle just any adventurer. He sends you off to
bring him the skull of Ahumado. Ahumado camps in the Blue Mountains.
His tortures are the stuff to frighten children with. He might hang a
captive in a cage from a cliff to be vulture food. Perhaps he will have
their skin removed or maybe thrown into the PIT.
A warm and fuzzy felling enters your soul. You know of
Ahumado and the songs of your deed will be sung till the end of time.
A Note on Quests: So you think no one ever fell in a pit they couldn't
get out of? Be careful as the path to Ahumado's camp is fraught with
traps. Also, not all messages that you may encounter mean anything.
Assorted Notes: I had a few testors but for the most part they all
wimped out on me without answering the questions I most needed to know.
It is impossible to make a good map without lots off input from various
players. This means there will most likely be some idiosyncrasies that
I missed and I apologize for that. Some day I will make these maps
so the additional sounds work with PoP but right now I just want it done.
